If you are like me, you are fed up with being ripped off paying for things you really don’t need.
I compared car insurance companies online and offline and was amazed to see how most of them were adding options to my policy that I did not ask for.
These additional features (like roadside service) can really add up, and for the average driver I don’t think they are needed, but they sure make the insurance agent a nice commission if you buy them.

Why should I get cheap car insurance quotes online instead of just calling several agents at different insurance companies? It seems to me that I could get more personalized service if I talk directly to an agent about my auto insurance rates.
Besides that, I’m just not sure how secure my information is when I give it out on the internet.

First of all your information is secure with these companies. Remember these are are major auto insurance companies that are highly regulated by state and federal agencies. They take every precaution to play by the rules.
Also, your information will be passed through an “https” type website URL. The “s” means its a secure website that can not be accessed by anyone other than the owners of the site. Your security is guaranteed.
Secondly, when you get auto insurance quotes online through website portals like ours, you are getting multiple quotes from major insurance companies with your one inquiry.
The important thing to make note of is that the companies that will provide you with these cheap insurance quotes online, KNOW they are competing with each other.
When they participate with these online quote services, they know that you will be receiving multiple quotes from other car insurance companies. This makes them more competitive from the start.
They are paying for you to click on their website link and therefore they want to make sure they offer their absolute lowest rates to you so they can gain you as a client. You can’t get that level of competitive car insurance rate quotes when you are just talking to one agent on the phone.

We have 3 kids and have always been insured with Geico since my wife and I got married. Our oldest son who is now 22 was first insured with them at the age of 16. We thought their rates were a bit high so we got some quotes at that time and found that they were actually lower than any of the 3 other quotes we got from companies that friends referred us to.

I have been with State Farm for most of my life and when my son got his driver’s license (3 months ago)we got a quote from State Farm and also thought it was a bit high. We got a few quotes from other companies and discovered that Geico seemed to be the best so we switched all of our car insurance over to them.
Add my comments to the previous post and it almost seems like a plug for Geico, but they saved us about a hundred bucks on a six month premium so that’s who we went with.
